Craigavon
General Information
Craigavon lies on an area of flat land near the south eastern shore of Lough Neagh and is located in the Armagh County of Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Named after James Craig, 1st Viscount Craigavon, the first Prime Minister (1921–1940) of Northern Ireland.
Archaeological evidence from the Lough Neagh basin suggests settlement in the area as far back as 7,500 years, however Craigavon only became a settlement in the 1960’s. Today this incredible town is made up of a beautiful lake, forest and parkland, making it an ideal holiday destination for those that enjoy the outdoors.

- Craigavon Golf Ski Centre – Northern Ireland’s only outdoor artificial ski slope, also with 3 golf courses situated in lovely wooded surroundings

- Lough Neagh Boating Heritage Association – a community project building and restoring traditional Lough Neagh fishing boats, curachs and other Irish Craft
- Lough Neagh Discovery Centre – located on Oxford Island
- Oxford Island National Nature Reserve
