General Information

Londonderry is the second largest city in Northern Ireland located in the Derry County within the United Kingdom.  Londonderry known locally and historically as Derry, is an old city partially contained by well-preserved city walls.  The River Foyle runs through Londonderry and is spanned by two road bridges and one footbridge.

With amazing views over the area from the top of Derry’s steep streets and hills, the city is growing in population and popularity each year.  Londonderry is known for its amazing architecture with its collection of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian buildings.

On the north-eastern edge of the city there is a large expanse of wetlands which is an important bird sanctuary with the area being ranked amongst the top wetland sites in the United Kingdom.

The city is a vibrant and festive one hosting many festivals and carnivals each year when visitors flock to Derry to partake.  The sights of this compact city can easily be covered on foot and is well worth a visit.
